On a long journey from the New Forest to Brighton (19/8/07), we had recently backed out of the Rownhams services after we saw the appalling food quality and outrageous prices. While looking for an alternative place to eat, we took a wrong turn and stumbled across the Broadcut Sainsbury's (at least I think that was the one, just off the M27 near Portsmouth). I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable quality and generous portion sizes of the all day breakfast. Also I found the prices to be far more reasonable than other services found on the A27. Congratulations!
Having proclaimed my appreciation, I feel it is only fair to point out that my friend, Cathy Jones (who shares her surname with the manager of the store) was not so overwhelmed. In fact she was surprised and disappointed to find that some of her chips were stuck to the yolks of her fried eggs, thus rendering both eggs and chips inedible. Apparently this spoiled her whole weekend and she spent the rest of the day an angry Libran. I took a picture of the offending items (and her exasperated expression) with my mobile phone as evidence, should you wish to see it.
In conclusion I would say that in our party of 4 visitors to your restaurant, 75% of us were pleased with our purchases, so overall I think that is a good result. Well done!

It is however disappointing to learn that your friend Cathy was unhappy with the meal that she received and I can appreciate how frustrating this must have been for her. Please pass on my apologies to her that on this occasion we let her down.
I have arranged for a £5 voucher to be sent to you. Would you please pass this voucher onto Cathy as a goodwill gesture for her disappointment. I would like her to use it to buy something she enjoys when she next visits one of our stores.
